The wheels go round and the sunset creeps behind

Street lamps, chain-link and concrete

A little piece of paper with a picture drawn floats

On down the street till the wind is gone

The memory now is like the picture was then

When the paper’s crumpled up it can’t be perfect again

Character Complexities ;;

**Background/History:

The night of July 16th was stormy and unnaturally cool for that time of year. But it was the night that Romilda Krum gave birth to her second child. Over a year later she had a son who was named Edward. At first glances you could just tell that he was going to grow up and resemble his father more so than his mother. Of course he was only a baby and in the years to come; the first assumptions would of been correct. His childhood was very natural to him; he had a elder sister and a younger brother. This ultimately made him the middle child and so he had the typical middle child syndrome. But some things like that didn’t last forever. After his mother and father got a divorce the family was split in two. His sister, Abigail, ended up going with his mother, Romilda, who he never saw that often. Edward ended up going to Bulgaria with his father.

Edward didn’t have much time to settle into the life at Bulgaria as he was shipped off to Durmstrang almost immediately. Through his adolescent years he was sullen and quiet. Often off by himself or playing quidditch. His relationship with his father was severely strained through the lack of conversation. Though both were men of few words, Edward always wanted to have some connection with his father and never got it. So he went through life not caring any more what his father thought of him. Although it was always requested that he go into the Ministry or become a Quidditch Player. Edward had made his mind up long ago about where he was going to belong and there was no way that he was going to sit in a suit all day. So all through school he focused on Quidditch and payed no never mind to classes.

The years at Durmstrang had been some what hard for Edward, as he tended to be a little antisocial. Most of the people fawned over him because he had inherited his father’s natural ability to play quidditch but he had put his own flair on it. The comparison of Viktor and Edward was on going throughout Edward’s life and didn’t want to hear it. In his mind he was much different that his father and was better. Not to say that he didn’t respect his father, he did but he hated being compared to him. In school his grades were about par, not better and not lower. Most of his time and energy was put else where, so he never studied. As for social skills; he had them but rarely used them. Edward tended to be a loner but was thrown into the spot light at times he didn’t want. Over the years he got used to this and began to like the people around him. He had lots of friends and acquaintances at school.

The time had gone by so fast and he couldn’t believe that he had graduated. The marks were just good, not good enough to get into the Ministry which angered his father. But Edward dismissed that and moved to Vratsa, the capital of Bulgaria. He there tried out for the Quidditch team and was accepted as a seeker. This did however, make his father very proud. Then for the first year Viktor was seen at every game to watch his son, although the excitement wore off and soon vanished from the stands. Even though Edward had noticed he had no desire to go out and recapture his father’s attention for him. For the next two years, Edward put all his attention into playing quidditch. The third year of being reinstated as the seeker, the Vratsa Vultures named him captain. To Edward, this was all he had ever wanted.

Edward spent most of his time at Vratsa, where he owned a manor that wasn’t to ostentatious. It was simple with not to many rooms. The fact that Edward spent little time there made it easier to be alone. He had always feared getting to close to people, after his parent’s divorce, he had always hated the gut wrenching feeling he got. Edward had never had to many relationships in his life although he had seen a couple girls from England. Which was why he often ventured there when he had a holiday or a break in his schedule. The route was always nice and he wasn’t surprising if he spent a month in London. Edward had managed to get a little flat on the east side of the city, which he stayed in frequently.

Appearance:

Edward was tall and lean, a very athletic built. While his father had been more muscular and burly, Edward was the opposite. His muscular mass was at a minimum and that never bothered Edward. Being a seeker he wanted to be as lean as possible, while still being athletic. He had managed that by running and playing as much quidditch as possible. His physique meant a lot to him being a professional athlete and he was proud of what he had become. While his father was more bulky and uncoordinated he was compact and graceful. Which made it all the easier to do the important dives and tricks in the air. His height was a little stunning to his family, as his father wasn’t overly tall and his mother wasn’t either. But Edwards had matured to a full six foot two and a half. Slightly tall but he made due with what he had.

Edward’s features were very dark which matched up with is mother and father. Although esthetically he was put together nice than his father had been, which had come from his serenely beautiful mother. While his father had a large, curved nose Edward’s was more soft and average. He didn’t inherit the big, bushy eyebrows either but where tamed and shaped. Edward had a mop of deep brunette hair that was fairly short but still had a little length to it. On his face he had a little bit of facial hair growing that he kept groomed. In his world he sees it all through deep chocolate brown irises. They were stunning eyes and people were often drawn to them. They always gave away his true feelings and he hated them from that. When you wanted to lie you just couldn’t and it made it harder for him to get away with some things.

Usually he had a smile or smirk on his lips which did reach those eyes. It was usually more often to be a smile as he was a very light hearted young man. At his twenty one years he was good looking although there were things that he would change about himself. He hated the fact that he was so pale. Living in Bulgaria he didn’t have much of an opportunity to get out in the hot sun so he stayed very white, almost translucent. When he did get in the sun, he burned there was no tanning. After a couple agonizing day he would be slightly bronzed but it wasn’t worth the effort so he stayed pale. His dark locks really made him seem more pale than he was and people often joked that he was a vampire.

Edward had straight, white teeth which was easy to get when you took care of them. Overall he was a just a young man that had managed to inherit some good genes from both sides of his family. Most of the time he tended to dress casual but could pull of the sleek look if need be. There was many formal occasions that called for that look, that Edward attended any way. He would usually be seen in a pair of jeans and a button up shirt, unless he was at quidditch practice.

Personality:

Personality wise he was very much like his father. Almost mirror images, all through Viktor’s life he had been surly and moody which had copied on to his son. Edward was surly and moody, he actually had it perfect to a t. When he was moody he wasn’t mean, he just wanted to be left and alone. Being mean was the last thing that he would come to when people couldn’t take a hint. For the most part, he was a very happy go luck kind of guy. Most things didn’t phase him, he just brushed them off and moved on. That could either because he had hardened himself of he was stubborn. For Edward was probably the most stubborn person in his family, he hated letting things go. He did have however the maturity to let things go if need be.

Self-confidence ran through this boy, as it had his mother. Romilda had always been a little to Slytherin to be a Gryffindor and Edward had picked up on that. If he would of gone to Hogwarts he would of been place in the Slytherin house. For he was extremely self-confident, maybe ever to the extent of being overly. Edward knew he could do things and was a little cocky. Which was one of his weaknesses. Although he could be kind he could manipulate people into doing things that he wanted. Edward only used that when it suited him, it wasn’t a thing he did day to day. He was very intelligent although he didn’t use it to his advantage, he was lazy. It was much easier to apply his knowledge to quidditch that a more demanding job at the ministry.

There was a side to Edward that people loved. He was completely wacky and hilarious. He didn’t show it often as he was using brooding. Edward would come up with witty conversation pleasers and sarcastic remarks that made people laugh. The light really came out of him and he wasn’t the dark, damper that his father had been. Not to say he didn’t have his moments. He did, but he preferred to be light and fluffy. People where generally drawn to those who were easy going and happy, and Edward did draw people in. Lots of people just wanted to be near him and talk to him. He could keep a conversation going for hours at a time. There was just that much stuff going on his head, most was random and useless crap but it was entertaining.

Edward could be charming when he needed to be, he wasn’t usually that good with the ladies. He wondered now if they only wanted to be near him because of who he was not because of what was in his heart. So he usually tended to avoid those situations although there was just times when he couldn’t resist. Having a good time was right up his alley and he wasn’t afraid to try new things. So Edward could been seen with a girl dancing or drink although the conversation would lack substance. He got so tongue tied around girls he just couldn’t help himself. No matter how much self-confidence he had, it never helped when it came to girls. They were a big weakness for him.

The child was unexpectedly forward and Narcissa could only smirk at such a discovery. There weren't such children in the world anymore, or they were dwindling turning to all that good and bullocks. She could see her son in the girl a little, but she was stronger. Draco could hardly be considered strong. He liked to think he was, but really he had this tendency to be overshadowed by those who could control themselves under the Dark Lord. It was sad really since Daniel was only a year above Draco and their acquaintance should have made things easier for him. Oh well, there was a child in front of her she could easily mold for the better.

"Yes, I am Mrs. Malfoy," she said with a pride that was like no other. She bore the name proudly, even if her husband had gone off and gotten himself in Azkaban again. He was turning into more of a fool every time he came out of there and really Narcissa couldn't do anything to help him. She however, was on the fast track. Daniel trusted her with a lot of information and a lot of tasks that she wouldn't have put in anyone else's hands. Narcissa had been wise to follow the first Dark Lord at such a young age, and then to continue her support for him when everyone thought he had vanished. It was her loyalty that gained her such high respects and it was her loyalty alone that had kept her in such a league.

As the girl explained about her past, Narcissa scowled. "Your grandparents were fools," she spat looking to the grave at the man who had started such a revolution. "This man was brilliant, he was a true leader, and he was far greater then your grandparents could ever be." To have anyone talk badly about him was a dishonor upon the entire family and she wasn't liking the way things were looking out. She kept a tight grip on her wand in case the child should prove to think along the same lines. She could easily dispose of her without anyone knowing. In this graveyard, worse had happened. "Who was your father?" she asked letting the only curious part of her story leak out in a question. She couldn't tell by the look on her face who she might belong to.

Narcissa laughed a little as she showed her fangs. "But, can you use them?" she questioned. She seemed so young and if her father had been alive when the first Dark Lord was then she couldn't be centuries old yet. The poor thing, she slightly pitied her, but then again the vampires were rather on their side in all this, so she couldn't pity her condition too badly. As she answered who her father was Narcissa's jaw dropped. "Your the bloody child?" she asked. "You know, you're connected to the Malfoy family through your aunt," she said with a smirk. "You should keep that in mind, it's a proud name and a powerful family."

She followed the child's gaze to the grave and smirked. "I suppose I could tell you a couple of things, if you don't bite too much," she slightly teased and took a seat in the grass beneath her. "Nothing leaves this graveyard without permission though." She looked over at the grave and then to the girl. "What do you know about him already?"
